Marilyn Harper Sudbury, Ontario Obituary

Marilyn Harper

It is with great sorrow and heartbreaking sadness that we announce the passing of our dearest mother, grandmother, and great grandmother Marilyn Nellie Harper (nee McHugh) on Friday June 5 2020 after a short but courageous battle with cancer. Marilyn was the loving daughter of the late Wilfred McHugh and Luella McHugh (nee Closs) Cherished mother of Lynn Kutchke (Ted) of Florida, Mary Bayliss (Paul), of Schaumburg, and Tim of Sudbury. She was also loved by grandchildren Ashley, Alex, and Emma and great grandchild Lucien. Marilyn had a successful career at the Sudbury Star then at INCO for over 30 years, after she retired she traveled extensively throughout the world and told some great stories of every trip she took. After her travels were over she enjoyed camping on Beautiful Manitoulin Island. Marilyn was a person whom always put everyone else ahead of herself and would rather stay in the shadows so to let others shine. She will be sorely missed by all that new her. Fittingly, my mother has asked for no visitation and in lieu of flowers a donation to the SPCA or the Church of the Epiphany would be appreciated. Cremation then interment at the Park Lawn Cemetery alongside her parents were her final wishes.

I worked with Marilyn on many occasions at INCo and just loved her infectious laughter and her sense of humour. She has left us with fond memories. The best to the family. Friend Karen Taggart
