Joan Karen Narramore, 68, of Wilmington, NC, died Saturday, January 14, 2017 at New Hanover Regional Medical Center. She was born in Sacramento, CA on September 9, 1948, the daughter of the late Bernard John Schmitz and Dora Waggeman. Joan was an active member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church. She will be remembered by her family as a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and sister. Surviving is her husband of over 32 years, L.R. Hank Narramore; five children, Christina Carlson, Brian Smith, Jacob Burke-Smith (Amara), Kelley McDaniel and Colin Narramore; one grandson, Cody Carlson; a brother, John Schmitz; and two sisters, Carol Grota and Susie Hubbard. A funeral mass will be held 11:00 am Saturday, January 21, 2017 at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made in Joans memory to St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, 4849 Castle Hayne Road, Castle Hayne, NC 28429.
