Jerry L. Dean, 69, of Taberg, passed away on Monday, June 1, 2020 at Faxton-St. Luke’s Healthcare in New Hartford. Born in Rome on November 25, 1950, he was a son of the late Lawrence and Erma (Keeney) Dean. He was a graduate of Camden High School. Jerry worked at Omega Wire in Williamstown for many years before opening up his own business, T & J’s 5 Cent Return in Oneida. He retired due to illness in 2014. He was an avid golfer and played many rounds at courses all over the area. He was also a NASCAR fan and his favorite driver was Matt Kenseth. Jerry is survived by a daughter, Jaime (Michael) Smith; a son, Joshua Dean; a sister, Nancy (Gene) Sheridan; two grandchildren, Amber and Brandon; a sister-in-law, Rhoda Dean; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Gary Dean. Graveside services will be held at later date. There are no calling hours. Arrangements have been entrusted to Nunn and Harper Funeral Home, Inc., 418 N. George St., Rome.
