Yvonne Norisa Post, R. N., 94, of Stevensville went home to be with her Lord and Savior on June 1, 2020 at the Hanson Hospice Center in Stevensville. “He will give you victory. He will rejoice over you in great gladness. Is that a joyous choir I hear? No, it is the Lord exulting over you in a happy song.” Zeb. 3” 17-18 And with those words, Yvonne entered Heaven. Arrangements are entrusted to Starks & Menchinger Chapel. A Graveside Service will be held 11:00 A.M., Saturday, June 6, 2020 at North Shore Memory Gardens in Coloma with Pastor Bob Confer officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to: Heart of Lebanon, PO Box 1294, Black Mountain NC 28711, for medical safety equipment & food bags for the refugee camps. Or Paws of Hope, PO Box 13, Stevensville MI 49127, where she adopted her cat Charlie “the best cat ever”! Those wishing to leave an online condolence may do so at www.starks-menchinger.com Yvonne was born August 12, 1925, at home in Benton Harbor, Michigan, to James and Laurel (Badgley) Poziwilko. On May 16, 1948 she married Duane Post. Yvonne graduated from Benton Harbor High School in 1942 at the age of 16 years old. In 1946 she graduated from Wayne State University of Nursing, under the Cadet Nursing program. She began & ended her nursing career at Mercy, Memorial, and Lakeland Hospitals. Yvonne retired at the age of 84 after 55 plus years as House Supervisor. She loved her “Hospital Family”. Until her dying days, just the mention of how to start an IV would make her eyes sparkle. Yvonne is survived by her children: Ted (Diana) Post, Jill Post, Diane (Gil) Rau. Her beloved Grandchildren: Tara (Jed) Reinhardt and Doug (Sarah) Rau. Her deeply loved Great-grandchildren: Jaxon & Avery Reinhardt, Luke, Jordan, Adrianna, and Josiah Rau. Brothers: Pat (Shirley) Poziwilko, Gene (Linda) Poziwilko, Dan Poziwilko and sister-in-laws JoAnn Poziwilko and Donna Klug. Her devoted friend P.J.Reynolds. And her faithful cat Charlie. Yvonne was preceded in death by her husband, Duane, in 1986. Brothers: Donald and Robert Poziwilko. The family truly appreciates the dedicated & compassionate care given to Yvonne by the entire staff of the Hanson Hospice Center.
