Aster Margaret Colombo Yanesh died on May 31st, 2020 at Welch Community Hospital following a long illness.  Aster was born on April 4, 1927 in Lynch, KY, to Pete “Generale” and Angelina Colombo, and she was the last in her family of her generation.  She attended Gary High School.  She worked at Union Supply Company Store in Gary, WV.      Aster was a member of the Gary American Legion, Post 8.  She was a member of Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church in Gary, WV, and also Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Bluefield, WV.       Aster was the beloved Aunt to many many nieces and nephews to whom she was devoted.  She loved to travel with her dearest husband, Tony.  She was especially delighted with their trip to Croatia and also the trip to Hawaii that included her sister Rose Bales and her husband James.   She also frequently traveled to Myrtle Beach.       In addition to her parents and her husband, Aster was preceded in death by brothers: Valentino, Carlo, and Pete Jr. (BoBo), sisters: Rose Bales, Maria Cure, and Antionette Colombo, and nephew James Valentino Bales (Coney).       Aster is survived by her Sister-in-law and Brother-in-law, Mr. & Mrs. Henry Pinter of South Carolina, along with her nieces and nephews.       A graveside service conducted by Fr. Binny Mulackal will take place on Saturday, June 6th, 2020 at 12 noon from the Woodlawn Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel; Entombment will follow at the Waterfall Mausoleum.       Pallbearers will be Cecil Patterson, William Patterson, Nicholas Patterson, Russell Brown, Christopher Brown, and Julian Giglio.  Honorary Pallbearers will be Dr. Robert Cure, Tony Colombo, Dr. Carl Colombo, Gino Colombo, and Kenneth (Frog) Bales.  Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.fanningfuneralhomes.com Fanning Funeral Home of Welch is serving the Yanesh Family.
