Douglas J. Robers

Douglas J. Robers, 61, of Burlington, passed away Sunday, May 31, 2020 surrounded by his siblings at Grande Prairie Heath and Rehabilitation Center in Pleasant Prairie after a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Burlington, Wisconsin on September 19, 1958, grew up on the family farm, he was the son of Melvin “Cal” and Carol (nee Hawkins) Robers. He graduated from Burlington High School in 1978 and was a lifelong resident of Burlington. Douglas worked at Burlington Memorial Hospital, Mueller Pipeline, and as a Deans Delivery Driver for Ray Alderman and Sons. Douglas enjoyed archery, hunting, fishing, coaching and umpiring baseball, and most of all he thoroughly enjoyed watching his nieces and nephews play sports. He was a member of St. Mary Church and Conservation Club until his passing. Douglas is survived by his brothers and sisters, Jill (Mark) Wieners, Dan (Bobbi) Robers, Tom (Carol) Robers, Lisa (Sean McKeen) Stevens, and Denise (Tom) Kerkhoff; nieces and nephews, Katelyn (Craig) Loeffler, Jared Wieners, Lauren (Vaughn) Weis, Erin (Josh) Meyer, Bryce (Kelly) McCourt, Andrew McCourt, Chase Robers, Danielle (Noah Ehlen) Robers, Jessie Eagleman, Ben (fiancé Kelli Smith) Robers, Kelsey Robers, Abbey Robers, Matthew Stevens, Kennedy Stevens, Jenna Kerkhoff, Kole Kerkhoff, Tyler Kerkhoff and; great nieces and nephews; Mollie, Mason, Maverick Meyer, Jett, Lilly Loeffler, Laina, and Wesley McCourt; aunts and uncles, Cloyd (Joan) Porter, Jeanne Miller, and Charles Straus. Douglas is preceded in death by his parents, aunts and uncles: Wallace (Jane) Robers, Richard (Annette) Schiller, Virginia Straus, Al “Montana” Miller, Harold (Lynn) Koenen: and a cousin Patrick Nelson. The family would like to thank Dr. Anthony Ruggeri and the staff at Aurora St. Lukes Hospital, the staff at Manor of Kenosha and Grande Prairie, and the staff at Heartland Hospice for their hard work and compassion. Special thank you to all of Doug’s friends and extended family for their support. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or St. Mary Parish. Relatives and friends may visit with the family at Schuette-Daniels Funeral Home on Sunday, June 7, 2020 from 2:00 PM until 6:00 PM.
