Daniel Joseph Lones, 66, of Crooksville, Ohio died at 11:08 AM, Saturday, May 30, 2020 at Genesis Hospital in Zanesville.

He was born September 6, 1953 in Canton, the son of the late Pearl Lones and Bertha (nee: Soller) Lones Russell.

Dan was a former employee of McGraw in Zanesville and he had worked as a maintenance person for various local nursing homes. He was a member of the Sons of the American Legion Post 222 of Crooksville.  Dan was an accomplished guitarist, loved to play music and had formed many bands over the years.  Dan had a great desire to be baptized into the Catholic church but was unable to complete the process but he faithfully attended Rosefarm Church of Christ.

Left to mourn his passing is his devoted wife of 47 years, Roxandra (nee:Schooley) Lones; his daughter, Holli (Jim) Thibodeau of Florida; his sons, Dan (Jamie) Lones of Crooksville and Eric (Heather) Lones of New Lexington; his sisters, Doris (Bill) Morozowsky of Avondale, JoAnn Severs and Linda Botkin, both of Zanesville; his grandchildren, Brianna, Brody, Brady, James, Gracie, Ryan, Rochelle and Kelsey and his great grandson, Lucas James Isaak.

Welcoming into his Eternal home are his parents; his son, Adam Troy Lones who died April 15, 2006, his infant brother, Pearl Frederick Lones; his granddaughter, Brittany Lones and his step-father, Bill Russell.

Family and friends may visit on 2-4 and 6-8 PM,  Monday, June 1 at Goebel Funeral Home, 36 N. Buckeye St., Crooksville, Ohio.  Funeral services and a celebration of Dan’s life will be held at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, June 2 at the funeral home with Pastor Larry Taylor officiating.  Burial will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, south of Crooksville.

Due to the COVID-19 restrictions, we will require the wearing of masks and social distancing while at the funeral home.
