Major Hilda Harvey, passed peacefully away at St. Clare’s Mercy Hospital on Saturday, May 30, 2020 at the age of 91 years. Predeceased by her parents: Thomas and Violet Harvey. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories her brother: Robert, Cambridge Ontario, and her nieces and nephews in Ontario. Also mourning her passing are special friends: Glenys and Frazer Woodland and the members of the Duffett family, who she considered her extended Newfoundland Family; the Salvation Army Retired Officers; and her friends at the Glenbrook Villa where she resided for the last 12 years before recently moving to Hillcrest Estates. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, June 2 at 11:00 am. Due to the restrictions imposed by Covid-19, the service will be live streamed. To attend virtually, please visit www.barretts.ca and follow the highlighted link on the main page. The burial will follow at the Salvation Army Cemetery, Blackmarsh Rd. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in her memory to the Salvation Army St. John’s Citadel YP Corps or the Salvation Army Brighter Futures Program.
