William C. Shea

William "Bill" C. Shea, age 80, of Stratford passed away suddenly, on May 25, 2020 in Bridgeport Hospital. He was born in Milford to the late William and Gertrude Shea on July 21,1939. He was the beloved husband of Martha (Jacocks) Shea. Bill was a lifelong resident of Milford until moving to Stratford in 2017. Bill leaves behind his son Kevin (Lynn) Shea and daughters Susan Shea and Janet (Edward) DeNardis and grandson Tyler (Heidi) Shea. He is also survived by his brother Richard Shea and sisters Deborah (Jon) Simon and Denise (Wayne) Golde and several nieces & nephews. Bill was educated in the Milford school system. After graduating from Milford High School in 1957, he proudly served in the US Navy from 1957 - 1960. When he returned home from the service, he attended UNH, where he received an associates degree. He was employed by the city of Milford, as deputy assessor for many years until retiring. Along with being a loving husband, father & grandfather, he was an avid reader, fond of history and all things outdoors. In his spare time, he really enjoyed spending time with his family and his beloved dog Cleo. He especially enjoyed watching the New York Yankees, the Boston Bruins, fishing and playing tennis with his friends. Bill, "you will be missed by all who knew you and remembered most for your sense of humor". Due to COVID-19, A private ceremony will be held.
