Ofelia Maria Valencia-Abeyta
<p><strong><span style="font-size:22px;">Ofelia Maria Valencia-Abeyta, 95, a resident of La Loma, was called up to Heaven to be with our Lord on May 2, 2020. She was born on July 16, 1924 to Jose Ignacio and Eulogia Valencia. Ofelia was a devoted Catholic whose faith and devotion to the Lord was endearing and true. She was a very strong woman who loved her family. We will miss her dearly. She is preceded in death by her husband, Joe Abeyta; daughter, Faviola Abeyta; her parents, Jose Ignacio and Eulogia Valencia; her siblings, Elfido Valencia, Victoriana Montoya, Alfredo Valencia, Juanito Valencia, Pat Valencia, Louis Coca, Juanita Romo, and Pablito Valencia. She is survived by her children, Ida McCabe, Arsenio Abeyta, Roy Abeyta (Karen), Rudy Abeyta (Margaret), and Alex Abeyta (Eileen); grandchildren, Charlene Lucero (Ted), Maria Stafford (Joshua), Linda Minkoff (Adam), Roxanne Jaecks (Dan), Josephine Gabaldon (Patrick), Claudia Abeyta (Ozzy), Jennifer Abeyta (Nick), Gina Rael (Juan) and Angela Abeyta (Francisco); great grandchildren, Antonio Lucero, Faviola Starr and Oliva Elaine Stafford, Hazel and soon to be baby Minkoff, Stacy and Kevin Johnson, Avery Jaecks, Jayden Vigil, Cora and Brody Gabaldon, Gabriella Rael, Mila Ava and Liam Visarraga; brother, Leopoldo “Leo” Valencia (Cruzita); along with many loving nieces, nephews, godchildren, relatives and cherished friends. The Abeyta Family would like to thank everyone for their kindness during this difficult time especially the Taos Living Center Staff and Anvoi Hospice, along with her caretakers, Roy, Karen, Vanessa, Helen, Lena, and Maria. In respect to government restrictions regarding COVID-19, public services will not be held at this time. A private service will be held for immediate family with burial to take place at the Las Cruces Cemetery.
