Gregory Dale Bendixen, age 72, of De forest, Wisconsin and Marco Island, Florida, passed away at his home in Deforest on May 26, 2020.

A long-time resident of New Berlin, Wisconsin, Greg graduated from Menomonee Falls High School and received his DVM from the Iowa State University. He established the Companion Animal Health Center in New Berlin in 1990, which he ran for the majority of his veterinarian career. In retirement, he served as treasurer for the Marco Island Camelot Condominium Association.

Greg loved animals, reading, sports, music, traveling, making to-do lists, quick comebacks and witty remarks. First and foremost, he loved his family. Despite his prognosis, he never gave up on pursuing his bucket list.

Greg is preceded in death by his parents Marcella (Twiss) and Dale Bendixen and many pets he considered family.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Sandy, who he was married to for 48 years; daughter, Teressa (Graham Danzoll), Eagle, Colorado; sons, Ryan (Kelly Bendixen), Deforest, Wisconsin, Quintin (Jamie Ferschinger), Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and Justin (Stacy Bendixen), Waukesha, Wisconsin; grandchildren, Cameron, Caleb, Benjamin, Lily, Evan, Ethan and Preston; sister Pam (Ken Ahlmann); sister-in-law, Vicky Gardner; brother-in-law, Scott (Lynn Krupp); nieces, Sarah and Kendal; nephews, Jesse, Kyle, and Konnor; his stepfamily; and close friends.

A memorial will be held at a future date. Updates will be provided.
