<p>Maude&nbsp;Alice&nbsp;(Hicks) Rousseau, 87, of Fall River, formerly of Agawam, wife of the late Joseph D. Rousseau, passed away on Monday, May 25, 2020. She was surrounded by her family. She was the daughter of the late Leonard Hicks and Rhonda Stanley Hicks of Springfield, Massachusetts.</p> <p>Maude was an exceptional wife and mother&nbsp;married for 51 years. She cared deeply for her family and friends. She did this not out of obligation, but because of who she was. She was always the first to offer help. She loved to dance and host parties and events.&nbsp;She was a dance teacher in Texas and Massachusetts and an interior decorator. And she always ensured that every child who crossed her threshold was safe, healthy, and happy.</p> <p>She loved life to the fullest! She enjoyed bird watching and decorating. Her greatest love was her children.</p> <p>She leaves three children, Lorrie Rousseau of Agawam, Steven Rousseau (wife Jeannette) of North Carolina and Wayne Rousseau (wife Rosalina Vertentes-Rousseau) of Fall River; nine grandchildren, Joseph&nbsp;Mercieri&nbsp;III, Justin&nbsp;Mercieri, &nbsp;Marissa Rousseau, Rene&rsquo; Rousseau Senecal, &nbsp;Steven Rousseau, Wayne Rousseau&nbsp;JR, Stacey&nbsp;Gonsalves, Carlos&nbsp;Viveiros, Jason&nbsp;Viveiros; many great-grandchildren&nbsp;and many nieces and nephews; Maude was preceded in death by her siblings, Leonard Hicks, Thomas Hicks, Margaret Conlon, Lottie Tufts, John Hicks, Jimmy Hicks, and Doris Hicks and her Grandaughter Elmira Rhoda Rousseau.&nbsp;</p> <p>A private visitation will be held Wednesday&nbsp;May 27th&nbsp;for immediate family.&nbsp; Please use the tribute wall on her obituary page&nbsp;to express your&nbsp;condolences to the family.</p> <p>Video Tribute to be posted below shortly.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p> <p>In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to&nbsp;Alzheimer&rsquo;s &amp; Dementia (<a href="http://www.alz.org">ALZ.org</a>)</p> <p>Arrangements entrusted to the Auclair Funeral Home.</p>

Maude Alice (Hicks) Rousseau, 87, of Fall River, formerly of Agawam, wife of the late Joseph D. Rousseau, passed away on Monday, May 25, 2020. She was surrounded by her family. She was the daughter of the late Leonard Hicks and Rhonda Stanley Hicks of Springfield, Massachusetts.

Maude was an exceptional wife and mother married for 51 years. She cared deeply for her family and friends. She did this not out of obligation, but because of who she was. She was always the first to offer help. She loved to dance and host parties and events. She was a dance teacher in Texas and Massachusetts and an interior decorator. And she always ensured that every child who crossed her threshold was safe, healthy, and happy.

She loved life to the fullest! She enjoyed bird watching and decorating. Her greatest love was her children.

She leaves three children, Lorrie Rousseau of Agawam, Steven Rousseau (wife Jeannette) of North Carolina and Wayne Rousseau (wife Rosalina Vertentes-Rousseau) of Fall River; nine grandchildren, Joseph Mercieri III, Justin Mercieri,  Marissa Rousseau, Rene’ Rousseau Senecal,  Steven Rousseau, Wayne Rousseau JR, Stacey Gonsalves, Carlos Viveiros, Jason Viveiros; many great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews; Maude was preceded in death by her siblings, Leonard Hicks, Thomas Hicks, Margaret Conlon, Lottie Tufts, John Hicks, Jimmy Hicks, and Doris Hicks and her Grandaughter Elmira Rhoda Rousseau. 

A private visitation will be held Wednesday May 27th for immediate family.  Please use the tribute wall on her obituary page to express your condolences to the family.
