Julius Eugene Elliott

Rev. Julius E.”Gene” Elliott, 82, of Heber Springs departed this life Sunday, May 24, 2020 at his home. He was born September 26, 1937 in Greenville, Mississippi the son of T. J. and Emma (Kornagay) Elliott. Rev. J. E. Elliott was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 49 years, Ann (Chandler) Elliott, one son, Julius E. Elliott Jr, one brother, Thomas Elliott, three sisters: Mary Ella Stevenson, Alma Dickerson, and Barbara Brown. Brother Elliott served as minister of the gospel for 52 years in the Church of God of Prophecy in Utah, Idaho, and Missouri, and Arkansas. He utilized his electrical journeyman’s license to wire several church buildings. He served his country for five years in the United States Air Force from 1957~1962. Brother Elliott also served in the ministerial alliance, is a member of the Lion’s Club, serving as Heber Springs treasurer, and Melvin Jones Fellows. He enjoyed photography, desktop publishing, traveling, and spending time with family and friend. He is survived by his wife, Janette (Cameron) Elliott of the home, three daughters: Angela Decker (Tim) of Heber Springs, AR, Leslie Snyder (Tim) of Lexa, AR, and Alison Woolley (Eric) of Reston, VA, one brother, James Elliott of Monroe, LA, one sister, Margaret Guyton of Hollandale, MS, four grandchildren: Brandon Smith, Kristen (Smith) Vaughn, Matthew Snyder, and Ashley (Snyder) Campbell, and nine great grandchildren. Graveside funeral services will be 3:00 p.m. Thursday, May 28, 2020 at Center Hill Cemetery in Paragould, Arkansas. Visitation will be Wednesday from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Jackson’s Funeral Home in Harrisburg.
