Earl Lee Filmore, Sr.

Earl Lee Filmore Sr. was born in Trenton, NJ on December 6, 1947 to the late Ernest and Ollie Mae Filmore and raised in Ocklawaha, FL. Father of Earl L. Filmore Jr. (Khalilah) Kissimmee, FL. Travis D. Filmore (Sabrina) Clarksville, TN and Galen H. Filmore Ocala, FL. Grandfather of Teandre Roberts, Brianna Filmore and Isaiah Filmore. He was a member of St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church. He is a graduate of Belleview Santos the class of 1967. After high school he enlisted into the United States Marine Corps and served from 1967 to 1969 and while in the U.S. Marines Corps he served in the Vietnam War. He was honorably discharged from the U.S. Marines in 1969 at the rank of Lance Corporal. He then attended Central Florida Community College in 1973 pursuing a degree in Business. He was part of the first golf course management and installation maintenance department at Silver Spring Shores golf course. He also was employed at Water Oaks based in Lady Lake, FL and Rollins Greens until his retirement in 2000. He was most proud of being a United States Marines and his sons following in his footsteps and also serving in the United States Military (Earl Jr, Major U.S. Army) (Travis, SGT U.S. Army Veteran) (Galen, Senior Airman U.S. Airforce Veteran). He was an avid fan of all sports. He leaves behind a host of family and friends that loved him dearly.
