Avalee Honeycutt

Avalee Edwards Honeycutt, age 85, formerly of Erwin, passed away on Saturday, May 23, 2020 at WellStar West Georgia Medical Center. She was a daughter of the late Joel Edwards and Dessie Rice Edwards. Avalee lived most of her life in Unicoi County before moving to LaGrange, GA two years ago. She was a member of Rice's Bend Church of God. Avalee was a homemaker. She loved to cook, enjoyed quilting and spending time with family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-three years, Viss Honeycutt on February 6, 2004; four brothers; five sisters; two sons-in-law: Harold Tilson and Ernest English. She leaves behind to cherish her memory, two sons: Max Honeycutt (Gwen), LaGrange, GA, Jerry Honeycutt (Montana), Erwin; two daughters: Peggy Tilson, Erwin and Patsy English, Flag Pond; eleven grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; one great-great grandson; several nieces and nephews also survive. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, May 28, 2020 in the Patty Edwards Cemetery, Coffee Ridge Community. Pastor Kenneth Parker will officiate. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Everyone is asked to meet at the cemetery by 10:55 A.M.
