Wanda Birdwell Devenport Obituary

Wanda Birdwell Devenport, 89, passed away Monday, May 25, 2020 at her home in Graham.  Funeral will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, May 28, 2020 in Morrison Funeral Home Chapel.  Burial will follow in Pioneer Cemetery.

 

Wanda was born January 10, 1931 in Troup, Texas to the late Katy Elizabeth (Burks) Shubert and John Wesley Shubert.  She married George C. Birdwell, Sr. November 27, 1954 in Graham.  He preceded her in death on September 23, 2006.  Wanda was a resident of Graham most of her life and a member of Tonk Valley Community Church.  She owned an upholstery and drapery shop, she was an add salesperson for KSWA/KWKQ for several years, and was involved in farming and ranching.  Wanda married Ozell Devenport in 2007 and he preceded her in death on April 1, 2018.

 

Survivors include; daughters, Connie Seay and husband Tommy of Graham, Carol Chestnut and husband Ronnie of Graham; son, George Birdwell, Jr. and wife Caren of Graham; grandchildren, Jimmy Hanks and wife, Linda, Jason Hanks and wife, Melissa, Blake Birdwell and wife, Natasha, Ryan Seaberry, and Jennifer Davis and husband, Blake; great grandchildren, Evaline, Caroline, Katherine, Braxton, Meara, Andrew, Emily, Alex and Jacob; sisters, Ann Booth of Tyler, Nettie Cox of Austin; brother, Marlow Shubert of Huntington, TX. 

 

Wanda was preceded in death by two husbands, a grandson, Trey Birdwell, children, Wayne West, Jerry Birdwell and Wanda Sue Birdwell, sisters, Mildred Suttlesworth, Francis Glaspie and Naomi Dickerson, and brothers, Nathan, Earl and Leon Shubert.

 

Visitation will be Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
