Sis. Ruby Lee Gee Josey was born on May 18, 1926 in Florence County, SC. She departed this life on Monday, May 25, at Medford Nursing Facility in Darlington, SC. She was the daughter of the late Mr. Jessie and Ruth Friday Gee of Florence County. She will be lovingly remembered by her loved ones and family, community and church family. She attended Brockington Elementary school and was a 1944 graduate of Johnson High School in Timmonsville, SC. She married on September 14, 1946 to Bro. Ethel Bert Josey and to this union, five children were born. She enjoyed gardening and selling her bounty to the public. She also enjoying and singing, going to church and she loved the Lord. She was a faithful member of The Church in the Lord Jesus Christ of the Apostles’ Doctrine, Inc., and was baptized in the name of Jesus Christ and received the gift of the Holy Ghost. She attended along with her husband and family and was faithful until she was no longer able to do so because of her health. She worked along with her husband on the farm, raising her children, and then later retired from the Florence School District Four after 10 years of service. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bro. Josey; her parents, Jessie and Ruth Gee; son and daughter in law, Albert and Diane Josey; brothers, Freddie, Henry and Rudolph Gee; and sisters, Inez Brown, Edith Thomas and Ada Mae Greene. Also her granddaughters, Demetrious Josey and Ryan Josey Stewart. She leaves behind to cherish her memories: Her son, Ernest (Cherry) Josey of Florence, SC; Daughters, Sis. Maggie (Willie) Abraham of Florence, SC; Ethel (Kenneth) Dubose of Darlington, SC; and Rudine (Willie) Ham of Timmonsville, SC. Four adopted children: Earnestine Mack and Deborah, Ralph and Buster Johnson. She also leaves her sisters: Jessie Bell (Jeffrey) Barr, Sarah Quillen, Ruth Helen Cummings, Catherine Johnson, Janie (Ernest) Couser, , Norman (Mildred) Gee and Pearlie Mae Gee. A brother, Jonathan (Johnnie) Gee; She also leaves twenty-two grandchildren, thirty great-grandchildren, and one great great grandchild, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends, including a large church family.
