<p><span style="font-size:24px;">Alene Cole Kent, 80, of Decatur passed away Saturday, May 23, 2020 at her home. A graveside service will be at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 24, 2020 at Moulton Memory Gardens with Dr. Tommy Whitlow officiating. Lawrence Funeral Home is assisting the family.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:24px;">Born on March 8, 1940 to the late Lester and Gertrude Hood Cole, Alene was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. She worked as a nurse for 30 years at Lawrence County Medical Center and enjoyed quilting, working in her flower garden and scrap-booking.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:24px;">Survivors include her husband of eight years, George Kent; daughter, Terri Holmes (Connie) and their godson, Chandler Daniel; sister, Patsy Frost (Wayne); nieces and nephews, Jody Sibley (Lanier), Jerry Naylor (Gwen), Allen Naylor, and Brad Frost (Lisa); and several great nieces and nephews.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:24px;">Alene was preceded in death by her brother, Quinton Cole; and sister, Elizabeth Naylor.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:24px;">Pallbearers will be Connie Holmes, Jerry Naylor, Allen Naylor, Brad Frost, Wesley Daniel and Chandler Daniel. Honorary pallbearers are Wayne Frost and Lanier Sibley.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:24px;">The family extends special thanks to the nurses and staff at Hospice of the Valley.</span></p>
