Keith L. Purdue, Sr., age 91, crossed over to his heavenly home on May 23, 2020, at Advent Health Hospital in Sebring, Florida. ​ Born February 20, 1929 in Logansport, he was the son of the late Velda (Ford) and Dock Purdue. ​ ​ Following his graduation from Logansport High School in 1946, Keith served in the United States Army where he was stationed in Japan.​ ​ On June 24, 1949, he was married to Delores "Dody" (Hildebrand) Purdue. They were married for 66 years before her death on October 22,2015.​ ​ Keith was employed as a general foreman at Chrysler Corp until his retirement in December 1987. ​ ​ Keith attended Metea Baptist Church. He was a member of the American Legion Post 60. Keith spent the last four winters in Sebring, Florida where he enjoyed the warm weather and fishing. In Indiana, he enjoyed his flowers and birds especially bluebirds and hummingbirds. ​ ​ Keith is survived by his daughter Sherry Purdue,Logansport, grandchildren, Melissa (Jonathon) Kimmel of Avon, Matt(Lauren) Leach of Lafayette, and Mark Leach of Logansport. He is also survived by great-grandchildren Jacob, Brandon, and Bella Kimmel of Avon. ​ ​ In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by his sister Barbara Stewart, and son Keith Purdue Jr. ​ ​ A Funeral Service celebrating Keith's life will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 6, 2020, in Fisher Funeral Chapel. Friends will be received one hour prior to the service. ​ ​ Burial, with military honors, will follow at Davis Cemetery. ​ ​ Memorial contributions may be made to Metea Baptist Church.
