Karen Marie (Boeckmann) McCorkle, resident of Wynne, Arkansas, departed this life on Friday, May 22, 2020, at her home at the age of 63. Karen was born at Cross County Hospital in Wynne on Saturday, July 21, 1956, the daughter of Mr. Charles Frederick “Bud” Boeckmann and Mrs. Dorothy Beatrice (Hess) Boeckmann.

Karen was a 1974 graduate of Wynne Senior High School and was elected Miss Fluffy Rice in her youth. She attended East Arkansas Community College, and worked with Cabot WaterWorks prior to her work as Cross County Deputy Treasurer for 13 years before she was elected Cross County Treasurer, a position which she proudly served in from 2009 until her passing. Karen was a parishioner of St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Wynne where she greatly enjoyed singing in the choir, assisting with P.R.E. and Bible School, and served as a chairman on the Parish Council. Karen was an active Rotarian, member of the Cross County Museum Board and the Business and Professional Women’s Foundation. Karen enjoyed reading and playing Bunco, and had a passion for helping others. She donated to numerous causes and volunteered her time at several women’s shelters.

Karen was preceded in death by her father, Bud Boeckmann; and a brother, Stephen Boeckmann.

She is survived by her mother, Dorothy Boeckmann of Wynne; a son, Michael Williams and wife, Lana, of Cabot; a daughter, Regina Williams of Cabot; two brothers, David “Butch” Boeckmann of Wynne, and Mark Boeckmann and wife, Cheryl, of Wynne; two sisters, Janet Keith and husband, Reggie, of Black Rock, and Sheila McKnight and husband, Shane, of Wynne; five grandchildren, Kinsley, Harper, Whitney, Kenneth, and Chandler; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral Mass will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 27, 2020, at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Wynne. Interment will follow in Johnson Cemetery at Fair Oaks.

Friends may visit at the church from 5:00 to 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 26, 2020. Rosary will follow.

Those honored to serve as pallbearers are Lynn Blake, Jay Boeckmann, Jerry Boeckmann, Hunter Boeckmann, Billy Joe Hoots, Shane H. McKnight, and Tanner McKnight.

Donations may be made to St. Peter’s Catholic Church, The Restoration House of Harrisburg, or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Arrangements are entrusted to Thompson-Wilson Funeral Home of Wynne.

Please note: In accordance with directives from the State of Arkansas, indoor funerals are limited to 50 people, and all in attendance are required to wear a mask and practice social distancing. Families living in the same household may sit together.
