Kathleen (Kate) Kelsay was born September 22,1932 in the Tabor area to Roy and Gladys Tillman. She was united in marriage to Jack Light and to this union they had 4 daughters: Mary, Jackie, Kathi and Rosemary. She was united in marriage to Marvin Kelsay and had one son Boyd. Kate was employed at various jobs in the area and lived in Sidney a great amount of her life. As health issues started taking a toll, she became a resident at the Ambassador Sidney. She was very happy living there, making a lot of new friends. She enjoyed the nursing staff and had a very SPECIAL nurse VERNON! The highlight of her day was when he came on duty. Kate passed away May 22,2020 at Grape Community Hospital at the age of 87. She was proceeded in death by parents, Roy and Gladys Tillman; brothers and their wives, Carl Sr. & Glenna Tillman, Fred & Elaine Tillman; sisters and their husbands, Virginia & Kenneth Holland, Rosie & Dwight Cooper; daughters, Mary Martin and Rosemary Tillman; step-son, Garland Kelsay; grandchildren, Duane Kelsay and Sandy Monroe. She is survived by her brother, David Tillman of Lakeland, FL; daughters, Jackie (Randy) Monroe of Forsyth, MO and Kathi (Bill) Johnson of Stigler, OK; son, Boyd (Robin) Kelsay of Council Bluffs, IA; 10 grandkids, Gina Kelsay & Chris Duer, Billy Potter, Kelly & Jeff Crouse, Kristy & Ron Potter, Shelly & Mark Egge, Greg Griggs, Gary & Diane Light, Carie & John Tadin, Kim & Josh Lefever, Mario Kelsay & Maria Nguyen; 24 Great grandkid, 29 Great Great grandkids; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. Graveside services for the interment of ashes will be 2:00 PM Saturday, May 30, 2020 the Thurman, IA Cemetery. There will be no viewing or visitation. There will be a gathering of family & friends at the Victory Life Church Sidney, IA following services. In lieu of flowers, memorials are requested to go to Sidney Volunteer Fire & Rescue. The Crawford- Marshall Funeral Chapel in Sidney, IA is in charge of arrangements.
