Dallas Conn

Dallas Conn, 60, passed away Friday, May 22, 2020 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Lexington. Born November 2, 1959 to the late Venis and Dakota Conn in Martin, Kentucky. A school bus driver for the Floyd County Board of Education for 27 years he was loved by every child that crossed his bus door. An avid Goldwing motorcycle rider he never missed an opportunity to explore the open road. He found out recently he was going to be a grandfather and was so excited to take on that title. His faithful sidekick Midnight never left his side. Dallas is survived by his son, Cory (Hannah) of Richmond; 1 grandchild on the way; best friend and mother of his son, Sherry Conn of Garrett; 2 brothers, Bud Crum (Brenda) of Pikeville and Jimmy Crum (Karen) of Prestonsburg; 2 sisters, Dottie Layne (Bobby) of Michigan and Pauline Gardner (Clayton) of Salyersville; 4 special friends Lee Slone, Curt Stamper, Hillard Crum and Jackie Samons. He was preceded in death by his parents, Venis and Dakota Conn; 4 brothers, Bailey Crum, Harold Crum, Woodrow Crum and Jay Crum. Family and friends are invited to celebrate his life during a visitation Sunday May 24th 4pm until 8pm, with funeral services Monday May 25th at 12noon at Nelson Frazier Funeral Home, Interment to follow at John B. Conn family cemetery, (Arkansas Creek) Martin, Kentucky under the direction of Nelson Frazier Funeral Home of Martin, Kentucky.

Dallas was a fine fellow and good friend. We saw each other and talked almost every day at ACHS. We loved to talk sports. Dallas had a great smile and a wonderful sense of humor. I am fortunate to have known Dallas Conn.
