Jackie Thomas Huff

<p><strong>Jackie Thomas Huff,</strong> born August 11, 1946, passed peacefully from this life into the arms of his heavenly Father on Friday, May 22, 2020, at his home in the Dot community of Pennington Gap, VA, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was blessed to have his wife Patricia, the love of his life, by his side.</p> <p>He was a devoted member of the Greater Outreach Church of God in Pennington Gap, VA, where he had previously served on the pastor&rsquo;s council and in the prison ministry.</p> <p>He served in the US Army during the Vietnam War, where he was exposed to Agent Orange. After retiring from Eastman Chemical Company, he spent his time enjoying his family, serving his church, mentoring his nieces and nephews, and visiting with his many friends in the community.</p> <p>Jackie was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Beulah Huff of Pennington Gap, VA; sister Sandra Cheek of Jonesville, VA; brother David Huff of Tampa, Fl; nephew Matthew Huff of Noblesville, IN; mother-in-law Stella Rutherford and brother-in-law Sam Alsup of Pennington Gap, VA.</p> <p>Survivors include his loving wife of 34 years, Patricia; sister Gay Alsup of Pennington Gap, VA; Bill (Joan) Huff of Noblesville, IN; nieces Kelly (Kevin) Bledsoe, Jennifer Huff, Whitney (Aaron) Vogt; nephews Greg (Stacey) Alsup, Gary (Lisa) Alsup, Chris (Tracey) Huff, Marc (Lisa) Cheek; brother-in-law Wayne Cheek; sister-in-law Debbie Huff; three grand nephews and six grand nieces who were very special to him; numerous cousins; and devoted friends Eric and Joann Capps and Roy and Betty Webb.</p> <p>Graveside services will be held at Lee Memorial Gardens in Woodway, VA at 1:00 PM Monday, May 25, 2020, with Pastor Roy Webb officiating. Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery at 12:45 p.m. Due to the Covid-19 regulations Social Distancing must be practiced at the cemetery.</p> <p>Memorials and condolences can be sent to the family by visiting www.provincefuneralhome.com . Jackie Thomas Huff, born August 11, 1946, passed peacefully from this life into the arms of his heavenly Father on Friday, May 22, 2020, at his home in the Dot community of Pennington Gap, VA, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was blessed to have his wife Patricia, the love of his life, by his side.

He was a devoted member of the Greater Outreach Church of God in Pennington Gap, VA, where he had previously served on the pastor’s council and in the prison ministry.
