Roger W. Downing, 81, of Freeport, IL passed away Saturday May, 23, 2020 at FHN Memorial Hospital. He was born September 10, 1938 in Freeport to Donald and Dorothy (Willoughby) Downing. On May 5, 1962 Roger married Marlene Gorman at St. Catherine Catholic Church in Freeport. Roger enjoyed Nascar and spending time with friends and family. He was a former member of the Freeport Eagles Club #679. Surviving Roger is his wife Marlene of Freeport; son Jeff Downing of Freeport; daughter Cindy Carr of Freeport; and three grandchildren Kyle Carr of Sterling, IL, Josh Downing of Arizona and Destiny Downing of Freeport, IL. He is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and one sister. Private family services will be held. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Freeport.
