Troy Redd

Troy Gene Redd was born December 7th, 1940 in Elk City, Oklahoma to Pauline Irene (Cook) and Willie Jay Redd. He passed away Friday, May 22nd, 2020 at Weatherford, Oklahoma at the age of 79 years, 5 months and 15 days.<br /><br />Troy grew up in Elk City where he attended school and graduated in 1958. After graduation he continued to work in the Phillips 66 filling station that his uncle, Billy Cook, owned and operated. He was married to Barbara Jean (Scott) Redd in Elk City on June 26, 1959. After their marriage they continued to make Elk City their home where they raised their family. In the early 60's Troy began his career in masonry working with Paul Cook until 1978. He partnered with his son and they continued until 1997 when Troy continued brick laying career with Joe Hall until his retirement. He also enjoyed fishing, growing tomatoes, baking, gardening and spending time with his family and friends. <br /><br />He is preceded in death by his parents, 2 twin brothers, Terry and Jerry Redd.<br /><br />Troy is survived by his wife of 60 plus years, Barbara, of the home; 2 sons, Lynn Dale Redd, Elk City, OK and Roger Gale Redd and wife, Janet, Elk City, OK; 3 grandchildren, Jason Redd and wife, Tosha, Elk City, OK, Cassie Gayle Marcum and husband, Monty, Norman, OK and Brady Redd and wife, Jenna, Sayre, OK; 5 great grandchildren and 1 on the way. He is also survived by his sister, Sue Hutson and husband, Bert, Elk City, OK and a host of other relatives and friends. <br /><br />
