Betty E. Perry
Betty Eileen Perry, 89, of Sullivan, formerly of Findlay, left this world on Friday, May 22, 2020 at 8:55 p.m. at HSHS St. John’s Hospital in Springfield to her new home in Heaven. Lockart-Green Funeral Home in Findlay is assisting the family. Betty was born on February 21, 1931, the daughter of Glen and Alma (Furr) Small. Betty attended Country school for her grade school years and graduated in 1949 from Findlay High School. She and George H. Perry were united in holy matrimony on December 29, 1949. Betty was a homemaker for most of her years but did work for the Village of Findlay for ten years. She was highly active in the Findlay community, lending a helping hand when needed. She was a member of the Findlay United Methodist Church, the Red Hats Society, and a lifetime member of the Order of the Eastern Star. Betty enjoyed camping and did not know a stranger as she would take up conversation with most. She helped at the Methodist Church Food Pantry and helped make blankets for the homeless. She enjoyed volunteering at the Findlay Christian Church store, The Gift. In 1987, at the age of 56, Betty walked from Decatur to Washington D.C. (800 miles) with the MIA/POW Organization to honor and support our troops that are missing in action. Betty leaves behind three sons: Jeff (Pam) Perry of Marshall, Joe (Gina) Perry of Findlay and Todd (Sarah) Perry of Findlay; six grandchildren: Justin, Nick, Kyle, Zack, Holly and Maisie; 16 great-grandchildren; four nieces and one nephew. Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Glen and Alma Small; husband, George H. Perry; brother, Billy and sister, Monte. Betty will be missed by her family and friends and is sure to have everyone in heaven laughing.
