<p>Delton E. Osterloh, age 83, of Wilmot, SD, died on January 30, 2020, at Wilmot Care Center in Wilmot, SD.</p> <p>Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 14, 2020, at 2:00 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church in Wilmot. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral service. Jerry Lutkemeier will officiate, and burial will be at Wilmot City Cemetery at a later date.</p> <p>Delton Eugene Osterloh was born on March 17, 1936, in Graceville, MN, to John and Leona (Rachor) Osterloh. Delton grew up in Wilmot, SD, and graduated from Wilmot High School with the Class of 1954. After graduating, he worked for Porter Chevrolet in Wilmot and then with his uncle digging graves. In 1961, he spent three winters on a commercial fishing crew. He began work as a truck driver in 1964 and continued for 21 years.</p> <p>Delton married Eleanor Hutchins on August 31, 1971, in Browns Valley, MN. Together they were blessed with 44 years of marriage. In 1987, Delton began work as the bus superintendent for the Wilmot School District where he worked for 20 years until cancer forced him to retire. In addition to his different occupations, Delton farmed from 1957 to 2000 and served in the Army National Guard from 1958 to 1966. He also served on the city council for 34 years.</p> <p>Delton was a member of the Wilmot Presbyterian Church. He enjoyed hunting, auction sales, and vegetable gardening. He loved ice fishing.</p> <p>Delton is survived by his step-son, Kleon (Julie Nelson) Kvatum of Wilmot, SD; brothers: Darold Osterloh of Grants Pass, OR; Gordon Osterloh of Wilmot, SD; Jack Osterloh of New Brighton, MN; and Bob (Janet) of San Antonio, TX; sister-in-law, Mary (Chuck) Peters of Watertown, SD; step-grandchildren: Christopher, Reese, and Heath Kvatum all of Wilmot, SD; and many nieces and nephews.</p> <p>He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Eleanor; brother, Merle; and sisters-in-law: Barbara, Gladys, and Pat.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <center><br /> <br /> <br /> <a href="https://portal.midweststreams.com/pdfs/servepdf/9698">Delton&#39;s Memorial Folder</a></center> <p>&nbsp;</p>
