Larry D. Murch

   My Dad is the sweetest strongest person I've ever known. We held his hands and kissed his cheek as he passed on from this world and rejoined Mom in their forever home in paradise.
   Larry Dean Murch was born on October 16, 1942 in Fargo, ND to Henry and Emma (Peterson) Murch.  He grew up on the farm northwest of Arthur ND. Larry attended school in Arthur and graduated in 1960 in a class of 8.
   Larry was a lifelong farmer. He grew up farming and raising livestock with his father and brothers in the Arthur area and started farming on his own in 1964 in the Arthur-Hunter area. He loved the land, working and growing crops and took tremendous satisfaction in a job well done no matter what it was.
   On November 2nd 1979 he was united in marriage to Janice Bernadette Anderson at Nativity Church in Fargo, ND. They made their home in Arthur. In March of 1983 Larry and Jan were blessed with their first son Anthony. In July of 1985 doubly delighted to be parents again to the twins, a second son Brandon, and a daughter, Molly. As much pride as Larry took in his work and farm he took far more pride in raising his family. He glowed with joy giving as much precious time as he could loving and raising his family. They moved to Hunter, ND in 1986.  Janice passed away in 2001; Larry was heartbroken but continued to devote himself to his kids, community, and the farm. Larry retired in 2012 and enjoyed spending his time at home, and continued helping on the farm. He loved spending time with many of his lifelong friends and rarely missed a chance to join them for coffee and conversation in Arthur.
   Larry passed away on December 20, 2019 at Essentia Hospital in Fargo surrounded by his family. He was preceded in death by his wife Janice, parents Henry and Emma, his brothers Lyle "Spud" Murch, Lloyd Murch, Earl Murch and sister Dorothy Murch, father and mother in-law Harold "Sarge" and Geraldine (Bosh) Anderson.
   He is survived by his son Brandon Murch, Hunter ND, daughter Molly Murch, Fargo, ND and son Anthony and his wife Emily (Rommesmo) Murch, Hunter, Brother Donald and his wife Joanne Murch, Hunter, sister in-law Adeline Murch, Hunter, sister in-law Bonnie Thorp and her husband Doug McDougall, Fargo, sister in-law Betty and her husband Wes Ottmar, Duncanville, TX, many nephews, nieces, cousins, and his best little friend Ruby the beagle.
   Larry will be remembered best for his hearty laugh and tender heart, truly a gentle giant.

Visitation:  Friday, Dec. 27, 2019 from 5 to 7 PM with a prayer service at 7 PM at West Funeral Home, Casselton, ND.

Funeral:  Saturday, Dec. 28 at 10 AM at West Funeral Home Chapel, Casselton with visitation one hour prior.

Burial: Arthur Cemetery.
