Ralph 'David' Bishop

Ralph David Bishop, 70, of Cross, SC passed away December 10, 2015 He was born in Asheville North Carolina to the late Archie and Lexi Bishop. David met his wife while both attending Clyde A. Erwin High School in Asheville. While in high school he was in the Navy Reserves and finally Active Duty once he graduated. His family move cross-country, but finally settled back in Charleston after serving over 21 years in the Navy. He worked for the City of North Charleston, but after retirement, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and being with grandchildren; his pride and joy. David was a member of the Fleet Reserve in North Charleston and the Masonic Lodge Solomon 1. Survivors include his wife of over 50 years, Lois of Cross, South Carolina; sons David Bishop and his wife Tammy of North Charleston; Michael Bishop and his wife Sherry of Goose Creek; grandchildren, Amanda, Danielle, Travis, Sean, Sydney, and Cody; siblings Joyce Honeycutt of Asheville and Garrett Bishop of Lancaster, SC; and many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he is predeceased by his siblings, Fred Bishop, Alice Gatlin, and Terry Bishop. The family will receive friends Monday, December 14, 2015, from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm at McAlister-Smith Funeral Home, Goose Creek Chapel. A graveside service will be held, Tuesday, December 15, 2015, at 11:00 am at Riverview Memorial Gardens, 3715 Azalea Drive, North Charleston, SC 29405.
