Virginia Ann Gooden Glines Obituary

Virginia Ann (Elliott) Gooden Glines, 85, Whitefield, died on Tuesday February 27, 2018 after a period of failing health with her family at her side. She was born in Whitefield on January 20, 1933 to Raymond and Margaret (Kay) Elliot, the oldest of four children. She grew up in Whitefield, attended public schools and graduated from Whitefield High School. Virginia married Bradley Gooden Sr. and together the couple raised six children. Bradley predeceased her in 1996 and she married a second time to Stanley Glines in 2002, who predeceased her in 2012. She worked as a secretary and book keeper for many of the local shoe shops, Littleton Regional Healthcare, and retired from Weeks Medical Center. Virginia was a member of Community Baptist Church in Whitefield for her entire life. She was a member of the Ladies Circle and served the church for many years as treasurer. She loved to watch stock car racing, especially when her son’s were driving. She was a talented knitter and crocheter as well as a wonderful cook and baker. Virginia’s famous banana bread will be missed by many.

Virginia is predeceased by her parents, husbands, a son, David Gooden, and a sister Sylvia Baker. She is survived by her children, Bradley Gooden Jr. and his wife Linda of Landaff, NH, Elaine Monahan and her husband Rodney of Stark, NH, Lorna Daisomont and her husband Robert Jr. of Chesire, CT, James Gooden and his wife Theresa of Whitefield, NH, Sam Gooden and his wife Rosalee of Whitefield, NH, 3 step children, Wayne M. Glines and his wife Janice of Richland, Washington, Sandi Miley and her husband Glen of Perkins, MS, and Christine Stevens and her husband Scott of Dalton, NH, a sister Betty Fissette and her husband Donald of Berlin, NH, a brother, James Elliott and his wife Sandy of FL, 18 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends to numerous to count.

Visiting Hours will be on Sunday March 4, 2018 from 2-4 at Ross Funeral Home, Whitefield Chapel, 69 Lancaster Rd. Whitefield, NH. A funeral service will be held on Monday March 5, 2018 at 11AM at the Community Baptist Church, 27 Jefferson Rd. Whitefield. She will be buried at the Pine Street Cemetery in Whitefield on Saturday June 2, at 10:00AM.
