It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Morley Torris, who passed away peacefully with his family by his side at the Red Deer Regional Hospital on November 28, 2019 at the age of 78 years after a lengthy battle with cancer.

 Morley was predeceased by Marlene, his wife of 58 years. He will be deeply missed by his children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, family and friends. As a son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle or friend; Morley will be remembered as a fun loving soul who’s smile and laughter brought joy to everyone he knew or met. He was a humble, kind, generous man who genuinely cared deeply for others. His quiet courage and intentional way of making people feel good is what epitomized his essence.

Morley was born in Wetaskiwin,AB on September 8,1941 to his parents Ed and Millie Torris ( Deitrich ). He grew up on the family farm southwest of Falun, AB at Lynwood and attended both Fletcher and Falun schools. On November 4, 1960 he married Marlene Eva Maciborsky at the Falun Gospel Mission. Morley and Marlene moved to Eckville in 1963 where they raised their family and started an oilfield tank truck business. He remained in the trucking industry in the Eckville area until his retirement and was one of the best who mentored many others. He resided in Eckville until his passing. Morley loved Chuckwagon & Chariot Racing and became involved as a driver, travelling the circuit across Alberta with family and friends. He also enjoyed rodeoing, curling, camping, hockey, dancing, spending time with family and friends. He was an amazing cook both at home and also barbequeing & catering for many local weddings and functions. Morley was very active in his community and volunteered his time for many local charities and clubs. He was devoted to his family and always supportive of all their endeavors, the best cheerleader anyone could have.

Morley was predeceased by his loving wife Marlene, his parents Ed and Millie Torris, sister Josie ( Bob) Prosser, brother Irwin ( Glenda) Torris. He is survived by and will be lovingly remembered by his children Tammy( Steve) Maddox, Darrell (Teri Myhre) Torris, step granddaughter Dani (Jon) Morrison-step great grandchildren Harvey & Isaac, step granddaughter Taryn( Nathan) Roth-step great grandchild Graeme, Dwayne(Arlene Anderson) Torris, step granddaughter Kirsten( Evan) Oberg-step great grandchildren Everly & Leni; his grandchildren Clint( Erin) Maddox, Kalynn( Bobby) Miller, Coleman( AJ Neish) Maddox, Tristyn( John West) Torris, Braely Torris, Rayelle Torris; his great grandchildren Logan and Layne Maddox, Hadley Miller, Heath West, Bridger Maddox; his brothers Vern( Vi ) Torris, Ed( Myrnia) Torris, Russ( Sandy) Torris, Robert Torris, Robin Torris, Neil( Susan) Torris; his sisters Sally( Ed) Moller, Sharon( Lester) Buckle; as well as many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the Eckville Community Center 5305, 5315 - 52 St.  Eckville, AB on December 7, 2019 ( Saturday ) at 2:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in memory of Morley can be made to STARS Air Ambulance.
