Marguerite M. Thompson

Marguerite "Peggy" Madalene Thompson, 96, of Parker, Colorado, passed away peacefully at home on January 28, 2017. Marguerite was born in Elizabeth, New Jersey on June 29, 1920. Marguerite was married 27 years to Charles Dietzold until his death in 1973. She married George Thompson in 1981 and they were married until his death in 2002. She is also pre-deceased by her parents James and Sarah Reilly, brothers James, Anthony, Edward , George, and Matthew Reilly , and sisters Mary Reilly, Elizabeth Malinowski, and Catherine Barton. Marguerite was the last surviving child of the Reilly family. Marguerite was employed as a school bus driver for the Madison Township Board of Education in New Jersey for 15 years until her retirement in 1984. Marguerite resided in Madison Park; Parlin, New Jersey from 1955 till 1986, and then moved to Pheasant Run in Forked River . In 2004 she moved to Colorado to live with her daughter Nancy and son-in law Randy. Marguerite "Peggy" was a kind, loving mother/grandmother and always welcomed everyone into her home. Her smile, laughter, fun loving spirit and love of life will live on forever. Surviving are a son, Charles Dietzold (Nancy), and daughter Nancy Dietzold-Meek (Randy); 3 grandchildren Heather (Justin), Drew (Rebecca) and Brett and Great Grandchildren Ethan, Lily and Dylan. She is also survived by step-grandchildren Kevin ( Suzette ), Krista ( Christian) and Great Grandchildren Colter, Caden, Avery, Ella and Adalyn; in addition to many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Monday February 6th from 7-9PM at Dooley Funeral Home, 218 North Ave West, Cranford, NJ 07016. The funeral service is on Tuesday February 7, and will begin at 8:30 AM at Dooley Funeral Home, followed by a 9:30 mass at St Michael Church in Cranford, followed by burial at St Gertrude Cemetery in Colonia, NJ.
