Nancy Virginia Smallwood Davis of Logan, West Virginia departed this life on Sunday, January 22nd 2017 at Trinity Healthcare of Logan. Born April 14th 1937 in Atlantic City, New Jersey, she was a daughter of the late Emmor French Smallwood and Edith Simons Smallwood. Nancy was an elementary school teacher who is fondly remembered by her many former students. She loved reading, her church family, animals, and college football. In addition to her parents, Nancy was preceded in death by her bother Henry Erben and niece Nancy Lynn Searle. Nancy is survived by her son, Boothe C. Davis, IV of Cora, West Virginia, sister Marilyn (Ed) Searle of Bedminster, New Jersey, nieces Beverly Strauss of Lincoln University, Pennsylvania, and Barbara Searle of New Jersey, and very special friends. A memorial service will be held Saturday, January 28th 2017 at the First Christian Church of Logan at 2 PM, with Rev. Andy Wade officiating. Visitation will start at 1 PM. In lieu of flowers a donation to the American Humane Society or Alley Cat Allies (alleycat.org) is suggested.
