Barbara Williams Gibson

Barbara Jean Gibson, age 83 of Mt. Zion passed away Saturday, May 9, 2020. She was born January 14, 1937 in Carroll County, Georgia, the daughter of the late Mr. Charles Monroe Williams and the late Mrs. Clastelle Horsley Williams. She had worked for Thomasson Printing Company and was a homemaker. She was a member of Harmony Baptist Church. She leaves behind many family and friends that will miss her terribly. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Eugene “Gene” Gibson; sisters, Clara Williams, Alice Smith, Billie Brittain, Pat Vaughn, and Hazel Jacobs; and brothers, Dudley Williams and Delmer Williams. She is survived by her son, James Eugene Gibson (Lytha) of Ranburne, AL; daughter, Shirley Spannknebel (Mark) of Big Canoe, GA; grandchildren, Jade Gibson Lovvorn (Justin), Amber Gibson Spradlin(Casey), John and Tayler Spannknebel, and Kari and Damion Ninkovic; and great grandchildren, Autumn Lovvorn, Brody Lovvorn, Reese Lovvorn, Summer Spradlin, Natalie Spannknebel, Jack Spannknebel, and Andja Ninkovic. She is also survived by a sister, Lucille Ivey of Mobile, AL and brother-in-law, Donald Brittain of Douglasville. A memorial service will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Harmony Baptist Church Building Fund at P.O. Box 158, Bowdon Junction, GA 30109.
