A. Duane Bryant, 91, of Oak Harbor, OH and formerly Endicott, NY passed away Wednesday, January 18, 2017 at the Elwood Assisted Living Center, Fremont, OH. He was born on June 19, 1925 in Clarks Summit, PA to L. Duane and Rhoda (Sturdevant) Bryant. On August 18, 2001 in Oak Harbor, OH he married Betty L. (Mainous) Young, and she survives. Duane worked as an engineer for IBM in Endicott, NY from 1946 until his retirement in 1984. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. Duane was an avid golfer and was a former member of the Endwell Green Golf Course. He enjoyed woodworking and spending his winters in Florida. In addition to his loving wife, Betty, of 15 years, he is survived by his daughters, Cheryl (Lee) Miller and Debra Siko, step-children, Harry Burks, Sandra (Fred) Schnoor, and Margaret LaValle, and many grandchildren & great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Pamela Bryant, step-son, George Young, and sister, Betty Cobb. Per Duane’s wishes, cremation will take place under the direct care of the Robinson-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, Oak Harbor. Private family services will take place at a later date. Memorial contributions in memory of Duane may be given to the American Heart Association.
