Jerry Byron Gilbert age 78 of Thomasville, AL died April 26, 2020 at his home. He was born August 14, 1942 in Nine Mile, FL to John Byron and Berta Mae Gilbert. He was an assistant superintendent with MacMillan Bloedel Inc. and retired from Weyhaeuser after working 35 years with no loss of time accidents. He was a member of Thomasville United Methodist Church. He is survived by his wife, Lynette K. Gilbert; two sons, Greg Gilbert (Madolyn) and Matthew Gilbert (Susan); two brothers, George Gilbert and David Gilbert; sister, Marion Wood; four grandchildren, Hollis Gilbert, Mary Gilbert, Abigail Valentine (Scott), and Elizabeth Gilbert. He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Shirley Farris. Private graveside funeral services were held on Wednesday, April 29, 2020 at Evergreen Memorial Gardens with Dr. Larry Teasley officiating. Memorials may be made to: Thomasville United Methodist Church Building Fund or to the donor’s favorite charity. Arrangements by O’Bryant Chapel Funeral Home.
