Francine A. Goodman Long Branch, New Jersey Obituary

Francine A. Goodman

Francine Goodman, 66, Monmouth Beach, NJ Life ended peacefully for Francine “Fran” Goodman, 66, on April 24, 2020 after a long illness. Born in Newark, NJ, Fran spend most of her adolescence growing up in West Orange. After spending summers at the Jersey Shore, her family permanently moved to Monmouth Beach in 1972. Fran always had a talent for planning the best vacations. She lived for her annual vacations to Aruba and went on over 50 cruises. You always knew when she came back by her intense tan and her need to start planning another trip immediately. She was a loving mother, sister, aunt and grandmother. She was an amazing cook, overly generous, and constantly joking. She worked in the sales department of Cablevision until her retirement in 2015. Fran was predeceased by her beloved husband John of 39 years. They were inseparable since they were teenagers and had the kind of love most people dream of. They are surely on their own island right now, surrounded by turquoise water, looking down on us. Fran is survived by her mother Doris Abruzzo, son JJ and wife Kathleen of Howell, daughter Darci Penney and husband Edward of Oceanport, sister Vivian Rice and husband Steve of Monmouth Beach, brother Charles Abruzzo of Oceanport, nieces Carlie, Stephanie, Samantha and husband Matt, Francesca, and four grandchildren, John, Alex, Charli and Franki. There will be a private funeral service under the direction of Damiano Funeral Home in Long Branch due to Covid-19 federal restrictions on public gatherings. Entombment will be at Woodbine Mausoleum in Oceanport. The family will celebrate Fran’s life at mass at Holy Cross Church in the near future and surely, every time they see a palm tree. Letters of condolence may be sent through the web at www.damianofuneralhome.com.
