Claudia Theresa Grant

Claudia Theresa Grant, 65 of Metuchen, NJ passed away on April 14, 2020, at St. Peters Hospital in New Brunswick, NJ. Claudia was born in Jamaica West Indies and migrated to the US with her parents and siblings. She was predeceased by her parents Leo and Avis Grant. She completed her high school education at Mother Seton Regional HS in Clark NJ and received a BA in Finance from TCNJ. She was a valued employee of Bracco Diagnostics Inc. Monroe NJ for many years where she worked in the accounts receivable department. Claudia was a parishioner at St. Francis Cathedral in Metuchen and was very active in the church as a Eucharistic minister and usher. She helped set up the Sunday services at JFK Medical Center. Claudia was a member of Companions of Mary and was involved with Interfaith where she transported patients for dialysis treatments at St. Peters Hospital. Claudia was a big sports fan. She enjoyed her NY Yankees baseball and NY Giants football and never missed a US Open Tennis tournament. She was always the most enthusiastic fan at her niece and nephews soccer games. Claudia, herself was an outstanding athlete where she excelled at track and field during her early school years at Robertson Preparatory in St. Andrews Jamaica and continued through her high school years. Her specialty was the 100-meter dash. Claudia was never beaten in this event during all of her school years in Jamaica. Claudia was one of the most selfless and enthusiastic persons one could have ever met. Her infectious smile, along with her engaging personality made Claudia a very special individual. She loved to travel one of her favorite trips was traveling through Europe with her sister where she made several lasting friendships with people she met in different lands. She also enjoyed reading books about politics and autobiographies of great politicians in history. Claudia is survived by her brother Dennis Grant of Laurel, Maryland, Sister Carol and her husband Don Wallace of Metuchen, her nephew Ryan Wallace and his wife Cristin of Edison and her niece Amanda Wallace of Brooklyn and many Aunts, Uncles and Cousins around the world along with the many close friends and work associates who will miss her dearly. Arrangements entrusted to Costello Runyon Funeral Home and a private interment at St. Gertrude Mausoleum. The family will hold a public memorial mass and celebration of her life at a future date.
