Charles Allen Baker

Charles Allen “Chuck” Baker, 59, of Satsuma, passed from this life unexpectedly on Saturday, March 28, 2020 at Putnam Community Medical Center. A native and lifelong resident of Palatka, Chuck was a 1978 graduate of Palatka High School where he was a member of the baseball team. He began working at Central States Bag Factory in Palatka and then moved to Bristol, TN where he worked until returning to Putnam County to work at Georgia Pacific. Chuck worked 15 years to the day at GP. He was a member of Peniel Baptist Church. Chuck enjoyed hunting, fishing, kayaking, the outdoors, his beagles and was an avid Gator fan. He was preceded in death by his mother, Dale Baker. Chuck is survived by his wife of 5 years, Helen Baker of Satsuma, his father, Charles Baker of Palatka, 2 step-sons, Shane Weeks of San Mateo and Jeremiah Weeks (Tracy) of Satsuma, a brother, Steve Baker of Palatka, 5 grandchildren, Westen Weeks, Taylor Weeks, Ruby Weeks, Kamryn Brown and Joseph Weeks and a niece, Sydney Shea Baker. Due to the Covid- 19 virus, memorial services will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be sent to the Peniel Baptist Church (Bus fund for Seniors), 5227 Silver Lake Dr., Palatka, FL 32177.
