John Raymond Lindenmayer

John Raymond Lindenmayer, 93, a former, long time resident of Baldwinsville, NY, passed away Friday, March 20th in Doylestown, PA . John was born in Syracuse, the youngest of 6 sons to the late Gertrude (Widowski) and Arthur Lindenmayer. John was a 1945 graduate of Fayetteville High School and following graduation served in the US Army during WWII. He was the recipient of the WWII Victory Medal and Army Medal of Valor. Following the war, he attended St. Bonaventure University, married his high school sweetheart Kathryn (Markle) Lindenmayer and moved to Baldwinsville in 1954. He received his NYS teacher’s certification in Science and taught for 37 years in the B’ville School District as well as coached and refereed for many years and served as the President of the NYS Scholastic Soccer Referees Associate. He was also the coordinator of the Kiwanis baseball program for 26 years and an honorary member of the Kiwanis Club. For many years he was a communicant at St. Mary’s Church, member of the Legion of Mary, Ushers Guild and Holy Name Society. He loved gardening and the outdoors and was an avid hunter, fisherman, golfer and sports enthusiast. He was the widower of Kathryn (Markle) Lindenmayer, loving father to Carol Fenn, Palm Harbor, FL; Raymond Lindenmayer, Tampa, FL, Susan Kennedy, Doylestown, PA; Mark Lindenmayer, Temecula, CA and the late Janet Lindenmayer. Devoted grandfather of 8 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00am on Friday August 28, 2020 at St. Mary’s Church, 47 Syracuse St. Baldwinsville, NY.
