Eddie L. Cudworth
Eddie (Ed) Cudworth left this world on Friday, March 20, 2020. He is survived by three children and their spouses, eight grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, his brother-in-law and spouse, and countless friends. Ed is preceded in death by Patricia, his devoted wife of 61 years, and his parents, Edgar Grant and Opal Jewel. Born in Parsons, KS, Ed was raised in the Midwest. A pharmacist by training, he graduated from Drake University. Ed was an executive with Walgreen Company for thirty years. His work took him across the country with relocations from Illinois, Iowa, and Nebraska, to New Mexico, Colorado, and Texas. Upon retirement some 32 years ago, Ed and Pat settled in Hot Springs Village. He loved the beauty of The Natural State, and eventually claimed the name “Arkie Ed”. Ed was an ardent and generous patron of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, The Shriners Hospitals for Children, and the seminarians of the Diocese of Arkansas. Although born a Baptist, Ed died a devout Roman Catholic. Ed enjoyed woodworking, golf, and dabbling in acrylic paints. He was an avid Chicago Cubs fan and cheered the Razorbacks. He delighted in collecting classic cars and was a private pilot. In one of his last messages to his children, he reminisced about missing his airplane. Ed will be remembered for his work ethic and commitment to excellence. He was a generous provider who never forgot his humble beginnings. His word was his bond. While his passing leaves an empty place in our family, he is now reunited with the love of his life. The family extends our gratitude to Father Bill Elser. Interment will be at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in a private family service. A Celebration of Life mass will be arranged when the pandemic passes and it is safe for the community to gather again.January 10, 1937 - March 20, 202001/10/193703/20/2020

We remember Ed as a gentleman, a strong Christian and fun to be around. We shared some fun times together on Valentines Day, cocktails in his home, Christmas Eve and dinner in our home. We will miss him.
