Trustee Henry W. Kendrick

Henry Wayne Kendrick was born on March 30, 1953 in Aberdeen, North Carolina. As a child, the family relocated to Paterson, NJ. He attended Paterson public elementary schools and then attended and graduated from John F. Kennedy High School. After completing High School, he enlisted into the United State Marine Corp and completed his 4 year term from 1972-1976 and received an honorable discharge as a Lance Corporal. Henry worked at several jobs over the years. Howe Richardson Scale Co, Marcal and Barnert Hospital just to name a few. Then he decided to go back to school. He went to Bergen Technical School and received certification in refrigeration. Then he went to Lincoln Tech and received his diploma as an automotive mechanic in 1994. Henry started working for the Borough of Teaneck as a mechanic and was there for 25 years. During his time there he was a part of the Union Association and Union President. He retired from Borough of Teaneck in 2016. Henry was a Boy Scout troop leader for Calvary Baptist Church. Often, he loved to go camping and fishing. He enjoyed going to Atlantic City, playing the lottery and going to Bingo. He also enjoyed, planning parties, social gathering and having cookouts/entertaining family and friends. His favorite sports teams were the Dallas Cowboys (football) and the New York Knicks (basketball). He also loved watching the games on his big screen tv along with old Westerns and many of the Law and Order shows. Years ago, he sang with the Men of Umoja Choral Ensemble. Since being retired, he enjoyed Wednesday lunches with his friends. Henry was a longtime member of Calvary Baptist Church. He was active in the Mens Auxiliary and was a part of the Trustee Board. He also participated and supported their programs. Henry was called home to rest on March 20, 2020 while at home. He was predeceased by his parents, Henry and Thelma Kendrick, his son, Henry"Man"Kendrick, Jr, one sister, Penelope Wilson, two brothers, Donald Nelson Kendrick and Glen Dale Kendrick. He leaves to cherish is daughter, Adrina Kendrick of Paterson, NJ, two grandsons, Joshua Kendrick of Lodi, NJ and Jahlil Kelly of Labelle, FL. One brother Ronald Kendrick, and five sisters (4 brother -in-laws). Elaine Williams, Kathleen (Timpson) Jordan, Denva (Eric) Mallett all of Paterson, NJ. Mary (Earl) Johnson of South Bend, IN and Deborah (Warren)Savage, Sr of Wilmington, DE. One sister-in-law Delores Kendrick of Yemassee, SC. Three Aunts, Johnsie Rochester, of Southern Pines, NC, Naomi Collins of Sharon Hill, PA, Margorie McNeil of Glen Mills. PA. Two Goddaughters, Ashley Bankhead of Greater Portland, ME and Whitney Savage of Wilmington, DE. A longtime partner, Lynnel Crawford of Passaic, NJ and a host of nieces, nephews and other family and relatives.
