Milan "Joe" Mason

Age 60 of Montrose passed away on Saturday, April 16, 2016. A funeral service will be held at 11:00am on Friday, April 22, 2016 at Nelson-House Funeral Homes New Lothrop Chapel with Pastor Marlene Webster officiating. Burial will follow at Flint Memorial Park in Mt. Morris. The family will receive friends from 4:00 to 8:00pm on Thursday, April 21, and also on Friday from 10:00am until the time of service. Joe was born on October 15, 1955 to Milan and Alida (Russell) Mason in Saginaw. He lived in Montrose for most of his life. He married Karen Goheen on June 20, 1981. For the last 31 years, Joe worked for AC/Delphi/GM. Throughout his life, Joe loved pheasant and grouse hunting, his 73 Dodge Charger, cold beer, and campfires with friends. He was everyones Mr. Fix It and will be missed by many. Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 34 years, Karen; his children, Mason Ureche of North Carolina and Brett Mason of Massachusetts; his sisters, Cindy Glenik and Vickie Blissett, both of Montrose; his brothers- and sisters-in-law, Rosann (Paul) Schaffer of Flint, Diann (Ralph) Polcik of Clio, Kelly (Jeri) Goheen of Hale, and Roderick Foley of Wyoming; as well as many nieces, nephews, and other loving family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, his stepfather, Albert Blissett, his sister Ellen Foley, as well as his two favorite English Setters, King and Doug. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the New Lothrop FFA Chapter.

We are so sorry to hear of Joe's passing. With sympathy from Bud & Marlene Bowman. Bud worked with him years ago at the old St. Joseph's hospital and was also a groomsman in his wedding.

Karen &family you don't know us but joe was here a couple of years ago with frank gotts we knew Joe & his mom he brought pics up here & we enjoyed seeing him after all this time. tell Vickie we are thinking of you all.
