Charles E. Stratton

Charles E. Stratton, 85, of Springfield, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 20, 2020. He was born on July 27, 1934, in Champaign County, Ohio, the son of the late Lloyd and Nellie (Evelsizor) Stratton. Charles is survived by his beloved wife of 53 ½ years, Jeanette (Rust) Stratton; children, Richard (Sarah) Adkins, Sharon (James) Ayers and Mike (Jo Ann) Stratton; 3 special grandchildren, Christina Adkins, Michael (Bridget) Adkins and Suzzanna Adkins; additional grandchildren, Alysha dePierro, Justin Stratton dePierro, Michael Stratton, Mitchell Stratton and Julie Stratton; great-grandchildren, Carter Adkins, Vincent and Layla; brothers-in-law, Ira (Dorothy) Rust and Asa (Karen) Rust; special friend, Joe Howard; and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by 3 siblings, Barbara Duncan, Frank Stratton and Ruth (Howard) Gillette. Charles was a proud United States Army veteran serving during the Cuban Crisis. He retired after 36 ½ years from Sohio where he was a maintenance man and drove tanker trucks. He enjoyed traveling and camping and was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather. Charles will be laid to rest at the Dayton National Cemetery. Arrangements in care of Jackson Lytle & Lewis Life Celebration Center.
