Charles Richard Chapman

Charles Richard Chapman “Charlie”, 85, of Arizona City, Arizona, passed away peacefully with his wife at his side and his family in his thoughts. Charlie was born on January 10, 1931 in Elkhart, IN to Richard Collins and Helen Elizabeth Mutschler Chapman. Charlie met his wife, Jody, of 64 years where they were high school sweethearts. They had two children: Richard (Kyoko) and Lynn (David) Holmes. Charlie proudly served in the United States Air Force before going to work for Mutschler Brothers, a family business. In 1975, Charlie moved to Phoenix, Arizona, where he was a small business owner in partnership with his wife until their retirement and move to Arizona City in 1997. Charlie always put the needs of others first, and once he was your friend; he was a friend for life. He enjoyed golfing and was a huge sports fan, fervently following the Cubs and IU basketball. Charlie was preceded in death by his parents, and is survived by his wife, Jody, 2 children, Richard and Lynn, sister, Sistie Moffitt, 5 grandchildren, and 6 great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Wounded Warrior Project. Heritage Casa Grande Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
