Nancy M. Nulsen, 64, of Mount Vernon, Illinois passed away at 5:26 A.M. Sunday, December 11, 2016 in Mount Vernon, Illinois. She was born Wednesday, November 5, 1952 in Honolulu, Hawaii to parents, Robert Sung-Soon Lee and Cleophas Kubota. A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 P.M. Friday, December 16, 2016 at Hughey Funeral Home in Mount Vernon, Illinois. Friends and Family may call from 12:00 P.M. until Service Time, 1:00 P.M. Friday, December 16, 2016 at Hughey Funeral Home in Mount Vernon, Illinois. Nancy M. Nulsen is survived by her mother, Cleophas Kubota; 4 daughters, Candice Nulsen and husband Jason Harris of Santa Monica, California; Jennie Mayer and husband Greg of Scottsdale, Arizona; Sydney Nulsen of Phoenix, Arizona; and Alexis Nulsen of Tuscon Arizona; 4 siblings, Gilbert Lee; Helen Lanford; Rosalie Probasco; and Elizabeth Lee; and loving partner, Charles Steckenrider of Mount Vernon, Illinois. Nancy was an employee of Good Samaritan Hospital in Mt. Vernon where she worked as an ER unit secretary and CNA. She also taught English at a local High School and Rend Lake College. She completed her Bachelors and Master’s degree as an adult at SIUE and was passionate about education and helping others. Nancy’s sweet and helping nature will be greatly missed by all.
