Charlie Monroe Edwards

Mr. Charlie Monroe Edwards, Jr., age 65, of Rockmart, GA passed away Monday, December 12, 2016. He was born in Rome, GA on August 11, 1951, a son of the late Charlie Monroe Edwards, Sr. and Flora Dover Edwards. Mr. Edwards had made Rockmart his home for the past 20 years moving here from Floyd County. He was a member of the Day Spring Assembly of God in Rome, GA and spent his working career at Mohawk Industries. Mr. Edwards enjoyed attending church, watching TV and loved spending time with his grandchildren. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother Larry Edwards. Survivors include his wife of 20 years, Marilyn Edwards of Rockmart; son, Charlie (Chuck) Monroe Edwards, III, Alabama; daughter, Allison Edwards, Alabama; step son, Junior Bollen, Rockmart; two brothers: Danny Edwards, Rome and Kirk Edwards, Rome; and eight grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 15, 2016 at 2:00 PM in the chapel of the Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home with the Rev.Dr. Larry Davis and Rev. Robert Anderson officiating. Interment will follow in Rockmart Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will include: Junior Bollen, Justin Edwards, Michael Haney, Nathaniel Edwards, Tony Edwards, Dylan Roberts, Wayne Dunn and Daryle Waddell.Grandchildren will serve as honorary pallbearers and include: Torey Edwards, Aubry Edwards, Kelsey, Kenzie, Maddison, River, Bailey and Zander. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 7 until 9 PM at the funeral home. The Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements for the funeral of Mr. Charlie Monroe Edwards, Jr..
