James K. Hopson

James K. Hopson, age 79, Unicoi, passed away on Saturday, March 14, 2020 at the Johnson City Medical Center while he was surrounded by his family. He lived most of his life in Unicoi County and was a son of the late Floyd and Lois Tipton Hopson. James retired from Bosch Corporation in 2000 where he worked in the Quality Control Department for several years. He was a member of Unicoi Baptist Church. James loved to fish, hunt and trading items with others. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Gouge Hopson on November 30, 2016. He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his son, Chad Hopson, Unicoi; two special grandchildren: Danielle Hopson, Unicoi and Zack Hopson, Elizabethton; four sisters: Linda Hawk (Randy), Sharon Newell (Don), Patsy Griffith and Judy Tilson; special sister-in-law, Judy Ray and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:30 PM on Tuesday, March 17, 2020 at the Unicoi Funeral Home Chapel. Pastor Todd McLaughlin will officiate at the 2:30 PM funeral service. Interment will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
