A funeral service for Sharon Sue Peterson will be held at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, March 13, 2019 at Wheeler Mortuary Chapel with Leon Nall officiating. Burial will follow in Portales Cemetery with Clay Brady, Tyler Frank, Ty Peterson, BreAnn Flores, Heather Stroup and Rustin Lancaster serving as pallbearers. Honorary Pallbearers will be Jake Brady, Skyler Pena, Tanner Hayes, Tristan Lancaster and Destini McWilliams. Sharon Peterson was born September 29th 1942 in Portales NM. Died March 8th 2019. She was born to Carl and Lucille Wood. Brothers Jerry Wood and Eddie Carl "Tinker" Wood. She graduated from Floyd High School in 1961. Sharon lived most of her life in Floyd and Portales. In 2006 she moved to Ropesville Texas with Roy Pinkert, where she lived out the remainder of her life. Sharon loved to dance and loved life. She also was very proud of her children and grandchildren whom she loved dearly. She is survived by Roy Pinkert, her children Kim and Matt Brady, Portales, Britt and Teresa Lancaster, Fargo, OK, Monty and Terri Lancaster, Portales, and Connie and Dean Schumacher Venturia, ND. She is also survived by her 11 grandchildren, and 15 great grandchildren. Her brother Jerry Wood and sister in law Lynette Wood. She's also survived by several cousins, nieces and nephews.
