Jobeth Yarbrough

Mrs. Jobeth Freeman Yarbrough, age 78, of Big Canoe, passed away Saturday morning, April 16, 2016 at her home. As one of the original planners of Good Samaritan, Mrs. Yarbrough volunteered countless hours serving the needs of the people in her community. In 2014, she received the Joseph D. Greene Community Service Award for her compassion and unselfish efforts to improve the health of all Georgians. She is survived by her husband, Harry Yarbrough of Big Canoe; son and daughter-in-law, Boyd and Lisa Yarbrough of Cleveland, OH; grandchildren, Ambra Yarbrough and Tyler Yarbrough; and sister, Inda Shirley. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Sonya Yarbrough Gee. Funeral Service will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at the Big Canoe Chapel with Rev. Lamar Helms and Rev. Lynn Walker officiating. The interment will follow in the Big Canoe Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends at Roper Funeral Home on Monday from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. The family requests in lieu of flowers that memorial contributions be made to either the Big Canoe Chapel Mission Endowment Fund; 10455 Big Canoe; Big Canoe, GA 30143; www.bigcanoechapel.org or to Good Samaritan; Good Samaritan Health Wellness Center; 175 Samaritan Drive; Jasper, GA 30143; www.goodsamhwc.org. Arrangements are entrusted to the staff of Roper Funeral Home Crematory; 206 Holly Street; Jasper, GA 30143.

Jobeth played a major role in recruiting volunteers for the Community Thrift Store before helping at Good Samaritan. Thank God for sharing her with this community.
